Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger felt his side lacked sharpness and desire after their 1-1 draw at Southampton.
Tonight’s result brought Arsenal back down to earth following their 7-3 win over Newcastle at the weekend.
The Gunners are now four points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea, who also have a game in hand, and manager Arsene Wenger pulled no punches following the draw.
“We were not very good offensively, we didn’t create enough. Defensively we were not too many times under threat but we didn’t create enough chances,” he said.
“We just scored seven on Saturday and of course I’m afraid we lacked sharpness and desire.
“Was it deeply underestimating Southampton? I hope not.”
