Transfer news: Andrey Arshavin’s former agent claims Zenit are no longer interested in signing him
Andrey Arshavin looks set to miss out on a return to his former club Zenit St Petersburg.
The Arsenal star’s former agent, Dennis Lachter, claims Zenit are not interested in bringing the 31-year-old back to the club.
Lachter believes Arsenal are looking to sell the Russian, who has attracted interest from London duo QPR and Fulham this summer, but insists it won’t be to the Russian club.
“As far as I know Zenit are not planning to bring Arshavin back to the club,” Lachter told Russian newspaper Izvestia.
“It’s clear that he’s no use to Arsenal either, but the London club are set on earning some money back on his sale.
“I think that the player himself very much wants to return to the Zenit camp.”
