Arsenal’s young goalkeeper Damian Martinez says he is ready for more first team action after making his Gunners debut in the 6-1 Capital One Cup win against Coventry last week.
The 20-year-old stepped in for Vito Mannone against the League One side and is now aiming to make his Premier League bow.
“I am working for that,” the stopper told Olé when asked about featuring in the Premier League.
“They played me and I responded well, so they know they can rely on me,” he continued.
Martinez went on to say how well Gunners boss Arsene Wenger treats young players, praising him for treating every member of his squad equally.
“Arsene is very professional and very helpful. He treats the best player and the 17-year-old lad the same way.
“And he has the same demands. And if he has to play the kid that is better than the veteran, he will.”
