Exmouth Market will become a focus of the culinary world during the London Restaurant Festival this year.
The street will play host to a new restaurant hopping concept called Graze as part of the two week event celebrating the capital’s gastronomic hotspots, which is now in its fourth year.
Restaurants Caravan, Moro, Bincho, La Pochetta and Medcalf will take part in the festival from October 1-15, which allows diners to hop between the eateries and enjoy a course in each.
At the launch of the event two weeks ago ahead of tickets going on sale, a kaleidoscope of dishes were on offer across the restaurants including anything from delicacies such as quail and pork belly, to steak, Japanese chicken skewers and pizzas.
Miles Kirby, owner and executive chef at Caravan, said: “When London Restaurant Festival told us about the Graze concept, we instantly loved it.
“It is such an exciting time in the UK for food, and trends like this are a fantastic way to try a little of everything London has to offer.
“Graze offers people the chance to enjoy signature dishes from a number of restaurants on the same street – at Caravan we are collaborating with our friends on Exmouth Market to offer diners a delicious and fun menu.”
Fay Maschler, restaurant critic and co-founder of LRF said that as the diversity of the capital’s eateries accelerates, Londoners are no longer satisfied with dining at just one restaurant – they want to experience a few, all in the same evening.
Simon Davis, director and co-founder of the LRF, added: “We have identified the areas in London which boast some of the country’s best restaurants – these streets will host the Graze concept across the festival fortnight.
“It’s a jolly simple idea but will be great fun for people who want to explore new places.”
Graze keyrings, which entitle diners to take part in the event, cost £12.50 per person or £20 for a pair and can be purchased at www.londonrestaurantfestival.com. The average cost of a dish will be £6 and each will be served with a complimentary glass of wine, beer or cocktail.
