Burna Boy has announced he will return to London for a summer stadium gig in 2024.
The Nigerian-born Grammy award winning artist made history earlier this year when he became the first ever African artist to headline a UK stadium in a concert that featured acclaimed special guests including Stormzy, Dave and J Hus.
Off the back of this success, and his number one album, I Told Them…, Burna Boy has announced he will return to the capital next year as part of a tour of the same name.
The afro-fusion musician will play London Stadium in Stratford’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Saturday June 29, 2024, with tickets going on sale this Friday, November 24.
Burna Boy, who called London home while studying at university, said: "London holds a special place in my heart, the energy and love from my fans here is unmatched.
"I'm thrilled to be returning to the London Stadium on 29th June 2024, after the incredible show we had earlier this year. It's always an honour to perform for my UK fans, and this time, we're going bigger and better. Get ready, we're about to make history once again!"
Traversing dancehall, reggae and afro-fusion, the artist’s chart topping album featured hit singles City Boys and Cheat On Me, plus collaborations with rappers J.Cole and 21 Savage.
Burna Boy will be joined on stage with his band, The Outsiders.
The musician was born Damini Ogulu in Port Harcourt and began making music aged 10.
After honing his craft on Nigeria’s southern coast, he emerged as one of the country’s fastest rising stars in 2010, combining influences form his Nigerian heritage with pop stylings.
He broke into the global mainstream with his 2012 single Like to Party, which led onto his full-length debut L.I.F.E a year later.
Tickets for next year’s gig go on sale Friday, November 24, 2023 at 10am at cokobar.com and onaspaceship.com
