30 people escape from Highbury Grove block as fire destroys flat

Thirty people escaped from a burning hostel in Highbury last night.

The blaze destroyed a two-room flat on the fourth floor of five-storey block Highbury Grove Court. Crews were called just after 6pm and it took 21 firefighters an hour to bring it under control.

No one was injured and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
