Islington’s next mayor got an exciting teaser of what his life is going to be like for the next year when he cut a ribbon.

Cllr Dave Poyser, the current deputy mayor, is set to be appointed mayor at the town hall next week (Thur).

Ahead of that, he was tasked with opening the revamped Children’s Air Ambulance charity shop in Junction Road.

“From this store we are going to raise money and do fantastic work,” Cllr Poyser said. “It is so crucial and I look forward to this shop becoming a fantastic part of our community.”

The shop offers only the finest range of men’s and women’s fashion, as well as homeware, accessories and books.

The Children’s Air Ambulance charity receives no government funding and relies solely on public support.

The shop is appealing for donations and volunteers to work in the store. For more information, visit childrensairambulance.org.uk or call 0300 3045 999.
