A 15-year-old boy has been jailed for four years over a gang stabbing at Caledonian Road and Barnsbury Overground station last summer that left another boy seriously injured.

The teen, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to GBH with intent and possession of a knife at the Old Bailey on Monday, while another boy, 16, pleaded guilty to GBH. A charge of attempted murder was left to lie on file.

The attack happened in broad daylight on August 25 last year. A 17-year-old was stabbed inside the station as horrified commuters watched on. About 25 people were said to have descended on the station in the build-up to the fight.

The younger defendant was jailed for four years for the GBH and two years, to run concurrently, for possession of the knife.

The other boy was banned from coming inside the M25 for four months and given a curfew as well as a year’s rehab.
