A 61-year-old carer died of a brain haemorrhage 24 hours after being attacked while at work, a post-mortem has found.

Detectives are still investigating the incident at a flat on Holloway’s Ringcross Estate on May 24 that led to the death of Molly Frank, 61.

The victim suffered fatal head injuries and was taken to the Whittington Hospital, where she died the following day.

A special post-mortem examination took place at the hospital and gave the cause of death as intra-cerebral haemorrhage. Police are still waiting for results from further forensic exams.

A 95-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation.

He was initially taken to hospital as a precaution due to a pre-existing medical condition and has now been transferred to a facility where his complex health and care needs are being managed.

Scotland Yard said officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
