Chelsea supporter Peter Stone, 26, of Rosamund Close, Croydon, admitted committing a racially aggravated public order offence at the football stadium in Drayton Park, Highbury, at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court last Thursday, February 14.

He was arrested at an Arsenal versus Chelsea match on September 29 last year, after several other Chelsea fans complained he was using anti-semitic language.

Stone has now been barred from attending any football games for three years, until February 2016. He was also ordered to pay a fine and costs totalling £250.

Pc Lucy McAuley-Burnett, football investigations and banning officer at Islington Police, said: “This banning order will come as a great relief to law abiding football fans.

“We will not tolerate racist behaviour anywhere in Islington, particularly at major events like football matches.”
