Police have released CCTV stills of three men they are searching for after Arsenal forward Theo Walcott was pelted with coins as he was stretchered off the pitch during a derby game with Tottenham Hotspur last month.
Stewards and the medical staff carrying him were also struck by the projectiles as well as other “missiles”, which came from the away stand during the match at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on January 4.
Walcott and a number of stewards sustained minor injuries in the incident, Scotland Yard said.
The England international made a gesture at the crowd as he was taken off - which the Football Association later confirmed was not offensive. Scans showed he had ruptured his anterior cruciate knee ligament, putting him out of action for the rest of the season.
Anyone with information about the men, or the incident itself, is asked to call the Public Order Crime Investigation Team on 07769 241315.
