‘Academic transformation’ of City of London Academy Highbury Grove hailed on GCSEs results day

The ‘academic transformation’ of City of London Academy Highbury Grove has been hailed on GCSE results day.

69per cent of students achieved both English and mathematics GCSE at Grade 4 and above (equivalent to A*-C grades).

The City of London Academy Highbury Grove, previously Highbury Grove School, is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school for students aged 11 to 18 teaching both A-levels and BTEC courses.

Clare Verga, executive principal, said: “The GCSE results achieved at the City of London Academy Highbury Grove reflect the transformation the school has made this academic year. Our results are testament to the phenomenal hard work of both students and staff and I am very proud of all involved. My congratulations to all.”

City of London Academy Highbury Grove is part of the City of London Academies Trust, which runs the City of London Corporation’s sole sponsored academies.

Andrew McMurtrie, Chair of the City of London Academies Trust, said: “This is a fantastic set of results. Congratulations to all the students for achieving excellent GCSE results.

“We wish each and every pupil all the very best and hope that the core values of City of London Academy Highbury Grove stays with each student for many years.”
