A man has been jailed for four years after a double shooting over a £3,000 debt.

Rodney Morrison, 42, of Lancaster Road, Newham, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm at the Old Bailey last week.

Lee Wallace, 25, and Jayson Hassan, 28, were shot dead outside Strang House in Britannia Row, Islington, on November 2010.

The two victims were mowed down as they each fled in different directions and tried to take cover behind a low brick wall.

Mr Wallace was hit in the lower back and the bullet passed to his heart, killing him instantly.

Mr Hassan was shot in the left arm, the back and twice in the back of the head. He died in hospital.

Daniel Wilson, 28, of Lichfield Road, Mile End, and his uncle Wayne Wilson, 43, of St Phillip’s Road, Preston, Lancashire, were convicted of the murders last year.

At that trial, the court heard Daniel Wilson sold drugs for Mr Hassan and had buried two of his guns in a neighbour’s garden.

The arrangement turned sour as Mr Hassan was owed £3,000 by Wilson, and Mr Hassan started sending him obscene death threats via text message.

In December Daniel and Wayne Wilson were each ordered to serve a minimum of 35 years.

Morrison had also denied two counts of murder and the prosecution offered no evidence on those counts.
