Caris Boxing Club, which is based in Tollington Park Road, Finsbury Park, held the event at the Gunners pub in Blackstock Road, Finsbury Park.

The crowd was treated to sparring displays by world and British champion boxers, as well as the club’s own young contenders.

And club founder Sam Hadfield said a secret donor had given them £1,200 to take the youngsters on a narrowboat trip next summer.

He said: “Everything was terrific – it was a full house and we raised enough money for a new boxing ring for the club. But that donation was amazing, it means so much.”
