Becky Coleman, 22, travels from West London to Aquaterra’s Islington Tennis Centre, Market Road, to train, and reached 180 in the world rankings last year.

Ms Coleman, who fits her international tennis career around her full-time job, beat players ranked as highly as 48 in 2013.

She said: “My game has been transformed by building a strong coach/player partnership at Aquaterra’s friendly wheelchair tennis sessions.

“I’m very excited about building on my success in 2014 with the help of my coach and the team at Islington Tennis Centre”.

Her coach David Vellala said: “By teaming up with ITC, we hope that Becky can be an inspirational trailblazer for other wheelchair tennis participants, from beginners to more experienced players.”
