The world’s first ever laser Christmas tree has been erected in King’s Cross, celebrating the area’s love of festive cheer and musical heritage.
Every hour between 5 and 10pm until December 23, the quirky shrub will go into ‘rave mode’ blasting out a pumping dance tunes from it’s home in the Filling Station, in Goods Way, across Regent’s Canal
In the 1980s and 90s, King’s Cross was a mecca for rave culture, hosting infamous events like Beautiful Bend and the club Bagley’s.
Jon Hose, from Urban Electric who helped make the tree, said: “When [the designer] approached us about the tree, we were instantly transported to the good times spent raving at The Cross, Bagley’s and Beyond.
“Our mutual love of old rave tunes, the nostalgia they bring and the opportunity to create a momentary flash back is irresistible. Rave on.”
