A pensioner was crushed to death under the wheels of a lorry this morning.

The woman, who was in her seventies, was in collision with the heavy goods vehicle in Packington Square, Islington, just after 10am.

The Air Ambulance crew rushed to the scene in a car but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 10.30am.
