A teenager stabbed for a designer Louis Vuitton scarf wants to trace the Good Samaritans who came to his aid after people around Finsbury Park Tube station ignored him.

Jahmal Swaby, 15, was stabbed when he refused to hand over the scarf, which he had borrowed from his brother, after he and his friends were set upon by youths as they got off the 106 bus just after midnight last Friday.

Jahmal, from Stonebridge, was stabbed in the chest and was bleeding heavily, but no one came to his aid and he staggered into the road in a desperate attempt to seek help.

The two men told him not to panic, positioned him on the ground and put pressure on the wound to reduce blood before calling 999.

“I was in shock, in pain, scared, but nobody seemed to care – people deliberately tried to avoid me. It made me feel worthless,” said Jahmal, who was on his way home from an under-18s disco in Bethnal Green.

Jahmal, who plans to study technical theatre at a performing arts school, was taken to The Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, and treated for his injuries.

He wants to shake the hands of the “life-saving” strangers who had Irish accents.

“I didn’t feel pain when it happened but I just remember my life flashing before my eyes,’’ he recalls.

“I would like to meet and thank them in person. I’m sure that I would not be here today if it wasn’t for their help.”

His brother Adrian Williams, 35, who has been Jahmal’s legal guardian since his mother died two years ago from heart failure, said: “I would like to say thank you to them in person.

“It is rare to find normal citizens who are willing to help people in need these days. There are people who openly condemn knife crime and show their support to victims, but when push comes to shove, these same people are the ones who walked past my brother, with their heads down.”

A boy aged 14 and a youth of 17 were arrested on suspicion of robbery. They have been bailed to a date in May.

A 15-year-old boy stabbed during the attempted robbery refused medical treatment due to the minor nature of his injury.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
