Former Times ABC super middleweight Zak Chelli will be looking for his fourth successive win at York Hall tonight (Friday), writes Ken Sellek.

Chelli is set to face a selected opponent on a Queensberry Promotion, having started his amateur career at Dale Youth ABC.

He trained and fought alongside world champions James DeGale and George Groves before joining Times, where he still trains under father Zak senior.

Former Islington BC captain Aaron Morgan is in also action at the Brentwood Centre on Saturday.

Morgan was an outstanding amateur, winning a National ABA Senior novice class B title and reaching the elite semi-finals a year later, before receiving an invitation to join the Great Britain Olympic squad in Sheffield.

After turning professional he won his first 12 fights in the paid ranks, before losing to Joe Pigford in May and faces a selected opponent on a Johnny Roye promotion.

Former St Pancras ABC member Davis Pagan is waiting for an opponent at super-welterweight.

*Former Islington BC member Daniel Dubois kept his unbeaten record going with another quickfire triumph on a Queensberry Promotion at Bethnal Green’s York Hall on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Dubois made it seven heavyweight wins in a row when stopping Kent’s DL Jones in the third round of their contest.

With both fighters standing six foot five inches tall, it was Dubois who carried the harder punching power.

Jones kept rushing forward with his gloves held high and head low and it took some time for Dubois to work his opponent’s style out.

But Jones was backed up against the ropes towards the end of the second round and almost went down, before Dubois came out throwing left jabs and right hooks to the head of his rival at the start of round three.

Dubois also slammed in good uppercuts when in close with Jones, who was trapped on the ropes once again when referee Robert Williams called it off after two minutes 43 seconds as Dubois retained his Southern Area title in impressive fashion.
