Highbury youngster hoping to take part in event in Abu Dhabi next March

A charity auction is being held to help Highbury youngster Lily Mills achieve her dream of competing in tennis at next year’s Special Olympics.

The 17-year-old has been selected to compete for Great Britain at the event, which will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates next March.

Mills has to raise her own funds to get to the event, which is why the auction has been organised.

Among the sporting memorabilia on offer in the auction include a tennis racket and tennis shoe signed by Andy Murray; a shirt signed by professional darts players including the likes of Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross; and a shirt signed by Ryder Cup star and golfer Andy Sullivan.

All money raised from the auction will go directly to helping Mills achieve her goal of taking part in the Special Olympics next year.
