Joel Hughes’ team lost on Saturday at home to Richmond, but bounced back a day later to defeat Wycombe House by 13 runs

After a mixed couple of days, North Middlesex will aim to get back to winning ways in the Middlesex County League Premier Division on Saturday at Shepherds Bush.

Joel Hughes’ team played two games last weekend and won in the Middlesex knock-out cup to progress into the last eight of the competition.

On Saturday they lost by 79 runs at home to Richmond, however, and in the process missed out on the chance to go top of the table.

Hughes won the toss and made the visitors bat first and they posted 275-9 from 61 overs with Tom Nicoll (3-41) and Luke Hollman (3-76) taking most of the wickets.

The chase didn’t go to plan though, and despite almost carrying his bat, Hollman was the final wicket to fall for 121 which saw the hosts all out for 196 in the 59th over.

Sunday was a better result as James Parslow’s 87 helped them set Division Two outfit Wycombe House 205 to win.

Captain Hughes then led from the front and claimed 5-36 as the away side were all out for 191.
