With speculation rising Cristain Pavon could be joining Arsenal, stick with the Islington Gazette for the whole of the transfer window after we reported the Boca Juniors star being in the frame, while calling the Konstantinos Mavropanos deal earlier this month.

One intriguing deal see could Liverpool’s loss being Arsenal’s gain as Spanish newspaper Diario are reporting the £145m arrival of Philippe Coutinho at Barcelona from Liverpool has led Blaugrana midfielder Ivan Rakitic to consider his future.

The Croatian fears his game time at the Nou Camp could be limited by the Brazilian and he will look to leave the club either this month or in the summer, rousing the interest of Arsenal.

There could be some exits as well as arrivals with midfielder Francis Coquelin set to leave North London.

The Mirror are reporting Spanish La Liga side Valencia have made a £12m offer for his services.

Could Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin be about to depart the Emirates? Could Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin be about to depart the Emirates?

Arsenal are willing to the sell the Frenchman – who is also drawing interest from West Ham United and Crystal Palace – which was the reason he was left out of the team against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

However, when asked about the 26-year-old on Tuesday morning, Arsene Wenger said: “It’s a possibility but nothing is decided. It would not be for West Ham.”

Do you want him to stay or should it be au revoir for Coquelin?

Wenger also spoke about the future of Alexis Sanchez, denying reports of a £30m bid from Manchester City. “No. I expect nothing. I have nothing to add,” he said.

As we all know, Sanchez’s contract expires this summer and he could leave for free if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new contract.

His exit is looking increasingly likely but will it be in January or in the summer?

The Guardian are insisting Pep Guardiola’s has made a bid of £20m for Sanchez in an attempt to capture him this month as cover for Gabriel Jesus who suffered a knee injury at Crystal Palace during the festive period which could sideline him for months.

The Telegraph are reporting a replacement is being eyed up. The paper insists Lyon attacker Nabil Fekir ‘figures prominently’ on a list of players the Gunners are looking at to replace Sanchez.

In a recent interview with French football show Telefoot, Fekir mentioned Arsenal as one of the teams he dreams of playing for.

“Real [Madrid], Barcelona & Atletico [Madrid] are the big clubs. After that there is England: Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal. I don’t have a specific club [I want to go to].”

While it’s great the Lyon-born France international – who’s won 10 caps for Les Bleus – has mentioned Arsenal as one of the teams he’s like to join, judging by his statement there aren’t many top teams in Europe he hasn’t mentioned – the cheeky Fekir.

Could Fekir and Alexandre Lacazette be about to reignite their effective partnership in N5?

Let’s hope so, if only for the headlines...
