Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has been handed Robin van Persie’s old number 10 shirt after the Dutchman moved to Manchester United.

Wenger believes the move will give the youngster, who has missed the last 12 months through injury, confidence ahead of his return.

“I feel Jack will be one of the leaders of this club and by giving him the number 10, I want to show I am confident he will be the one who will lead the team one day,” said Wenger.
