Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo says he does not expect Didier Drogba to emulate Arsenal legend Thierry Henry and turn out for his former club in a shock loan move.
Drogba has just finished his first season at Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua and is reportedly considering training with his former club as he prepares for the African Cup of nations.
Gunners legend Henry rejoined Arsenal in a two-month loan deal from MLS side New York Red Bulls in January, but Di Matteo insists it is highly unlikely that Drogba could do the same at Chelsea.
“I think he’s making his mind up what is best for him,” he said.
“At the moment he’s not with us.
“I think it will be very difficult for him to come back.”
A last-minute strike from substitute Nicky Ward snatched a dramatic 3-2 victory for St Paul’s Celtic over Regent’s Park Estate in the Islington Gazette Cup final at Market Road.
