Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed that Frank Lampard will miss their clash against West Brom this weekend due to injury.

The midfielder has not featured for the Blues since their 2-1 Champions League defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk and his calf complaint will keep him sidelined a little while longer.

“He won’t be featuring this weekend,” said Di Matteo.

“He’s not far off. We have to be careful with his injury.

“We don’t want to take any risks. We want to make sure he’s 100 per cent ready. He’s not far off.”
