Mark Stephenson grabbed his second goal in as many games but Islington & Camden Under-14s had to settle for a share of the points as they drew 2-2 at Haringey.

Haringey started the stronger and went in front after 20 minutes with a strike from distance, but the visitors fought their way back into the game and equalised five minutes before the break.

Right-back Serak Seyoum linked up with the play in the inside channel and threaded a perfect through ball for Stephenson to run onto and slot past the goalkeeper.

Islington & Camden made changes at the interval, switching to a 4-3-3 formation, and they dominated the second half without fully capitalising on the chances they created.

However, substitute Rafiq Khaleel gave the visitors the lead, collecting an incisive pass from Shaun Barwoah and holding off his marker before firing home.

Haringey posed little threat until five minutes from time, when they drew level following a penalty area scramble – but it needed a magnificent save from their keeper, stretching low to his left, to deny Khaleel a late winner.

The Under-14s are back in action on Saturday, facing Tower Hamlets at St Aloysius’ College playing fields (kick-off 9.30am), while the Under-13s travel to Aldershot and Farnborough in the English Schools’ Trophy.

Islington & Camden Under-12s claimed a resounding win in the Watkin Cup as they triumphed 5-1 away to Haringey.

Sid Shirley gave the visitors an early lead and, although Haringey levelled before half-time, it was one-way traffic in the second half.

Zion Abbott restored his side’s lead and Sammy Djilli made it 3-1 with a half-volley before an own goal and an outstanding strike by Abbott completed the scoring.
