Sang Pierre Gomez and Jendrik Loschner both scored twice to help St Aloysius Under-15s retain the trophy as they beat St Mary Magdalene 4-2 in an entertaining final at Emirates Stadium.

St Mary Magdalene started brightly and could have snatched an early lead, but Gio Boffa and Max Stipanovsky were denied by an excellent double save from Aloysius goalkeeper David Willis.

Top scorer Gomez capitalised almost immediately to open the scoring, bursting through and rounding Brandon Walsh to find the net.

Midfielder Dylan Bolister almost doubled his side’s advantage with a drive that rattled the crossbar, before supplying the pass that enabled Loschner to pierce St Mary Magdalene’s defence a second time.

Just two minutes later Bolister, who was voted man of the match, began the move that released Henry White to cross for Gomez, who held off his marker to make it 3-0.

It looked as if the contest might turn into a rout, but St Mary Magdalene hit back five minutes before half-time when Steven Alzate caught Frankie Chandler in possession on the edge of the box and slotted home.

Loschner then restored his side’s three-goal cushion early in the second period, but St Mary Magdalene continued to create chances, the best of them falling to Mark Williams, who headed wide from a corner.

St Aloysius regained the upper hand in the closing stages, with Elizier Kafuti and Dren Paloi both forcing saves from Walsh.

But it was Alzate who had the last word with a consolation goal, the pick of the bunch as he collected the ball from a throw-in, turned and curled an exquisite left-foot finish into the top corner.

Former Islington district player and Leyton Orient captain John Mackie presented the trophy to St Aloysius skipper Emmanuel Yeboah.

St Aloysius: Willis, Ulrich, White, Omid, Chandler, Lecky, Paloi, Bolister, Loschner, Yeboah, Gomez, Kafuti, Menhal, Richardson.

St Mary Magdalene: Walsh, Stipanovsky, Price, Sutton, Neza, Kelly, Isaac, Osborn, Boffa, Bailey, Pektas, Alzate, Mulholland, Williams.
