Team GB’s teen sprinter Adam Gemili is brimming with confidence
Adam Gemili is confident he can run his first sub-10seconds time and reach the Olympic 100 metres final at London 2012.
The 18-year-old Blackheath & Bromley sprinter claimed the 100m world junior title in Barcelona in a championship record time of 10.05sec earlier this month, confirming his status as the world’s quickest teenager.
Now he is confident he can break the 10-second barrier when he lines up against the likes of Usain Bolt at the Olympic Games.
“I’m getting closer and closer [to the 10-second barrier],” he said.
“It could potentially come at the Olympics. Obviously every sprinter wants to do it one day.
“A final is not out of the question,” he added. “It’s very possible if I perform well and get the right circumstances.”
