HIGHBURY GROVE SCHOOL

The ‘academic transformation’ of City of London Academy Highbury Grove has been hailed on GCSE results day.

The town hall was drawing up secret plans to transfer ownership of Islington’s 42,000 council homes to its own private company.

Police tonight released CCTV stills of three people they wish to trace for information on the murder of Islington man Mahad Ali.

Highbury Grove’s journey to academy status has been completed after the government confirmed the City of London Academies Trust is now its official sponsor.

A man has been charged with the murder of Hornsey Rise teenager Mahad Ali. He is set to stand trial next year.

An academy trust has been given a pat on the back by Ofsted inspectors after taking “swift action” to restore order at a troubled Islington school.
