Over the past few years, Dublin has continued to cement its reputation as a thriving cosmopolitan city with a surge of new restaurants, public buildings and bars. From the chicest hotels to the best gourmand pitstops, here’s how to spend a luxury foodie weekend in Ireland’s capital.

Where to stay

When it comes to chic stays, The Westbury has it covered. Nestled discreetly in the city centre, with the many designer stores of Grafton Street only a few steps away, this five-star hotel has it all for the modern bon vivant. Sleek interiors, slick service and signature dining spaces – it’s a haven of welcoming luxury.

Planning a theatre trip? Head to Michelin-starred Chapter One, tucked away in the basement of the Dublin Writers Museum for the perfect pre-show feast. Chef Garett Bryne’s imaginative cooking style is bound to impress – and they’ll even collect your theatre tickets for you if you ask upon arrival.

Singing the praises of Irish produce, The Westbury’s WILDE restaurant breaths fresh life into fine dining with its elegant yet sprightly atmosphere. Decked out in vintage glamour style, the plethora of deep olive greens and leafy foliage create a feeling of al fresco surrounds. Fish fans should order the Troffie of pan-fried scallops, mussels, garlic, rocket & pine nuts for a sumptuous seasonal bite.

Set within a Victorian building with high vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows, FIRE Restaurant and Lounge is worth a visit for the interiors alone. Famed for its Irish Hereford steaks, glide a fork through succulent dishes of superb beef or split a hefty Beef Board for a carnivore-friendly sharing experience.
