A higher altitude will make anything seem more hilarious. So where better to get your laughs than up in the clouds?

City Impro are teaming up with ArcelorMittal Orbit to bring comedy to Queen Elizabeth Park’s Podium Bar and Kitchen, as part of the Podium’s ongoing On The Roof series.

Entertainment is provided by improvisation group, City Impro, who have just finished a successful run of their show Improv Deathmatch at the Camden Fringe festival.

“We’re really looking forward to returning to On The Roof at The Podium,” says Kate Bishop, member of City Impro.

“To perform in such an iconic setting is such an honour for us and it’s a great way to introduce anyone and everyone to the wonderful hilarity and madness of improvised comedy.

“The burgers are pretty good too.”

A trip to the top of the Orbit is on offer to view London from its dizzying heights. Designed by sculptor Anish Kapoor and architect Sir Cecil Balmond, the Orbit is the UK’s tallest sculpture.

You can wash down your hysteria with a barbecue – cheeseburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers are on offer – and enjoy the view from the top of the colossal edifice.

On The Roof takes place on Friday September 9 at Podium Bar,

Tickets start at £11.50, including booking fee, for the show alone. Entry to the show and barbecue are £23 and £34.50 for access to the ArcelorMittal Orbit.
