Hailed as “London’s best indoor music festival”, Hackney Wonderland is taking over five locations within which to stage the acts.

Hackney Wonderland Festival returns to east London next weekend with its biggest line up to date, presenting the likes of Mystery Jets, We Are Scientists and Lucy Rose.

Hailed as “London’s best indoor music festival”, Hackney Wonderland is taking over five locations within which to stage the acts.

Gigs take place in Oval Space, The Laundry, London Fields Brewery, Sebright Arms and The Pickle Factory, so it’s possible to hop between venues without missing out on any of the music.

Alan Beeby started Hackney Wonderland Festival in 2014, with acts such as Little Comets and Britain’s Got Talent trio Loveable Rogues, and brought Carl Barat and the Jackals and To Kill a King in to headline the following year.

Now with around 50 acts and sponsored by Jack Daniels and Spotify, the festival is on the rise and it’s no surprise, given Hackney’s reputation in providing a platform to musical talent, both local and international.

“We aim to support local musicians and are fortunate enough that we can bring in the bands that have inspired them along the way,” says Beeby.

“This year London locals like Electric Child House and Cosmic Strip will be playing alongside We Are Scientists, Swim Deep, Lucy Rose and many more who come together to create Hackney Wonderland’s melting pot of talent.”

This year, the festival champions Mystery Jets, whose album release earlier this year was four years in the making. They are joined on the Saturday by New York duo We Are Scientists and indie rock band Swim Deep.

Sunday sees singer songwriter Lucy Rose joined by Londoner Jake Isaac, who recently supported her on her UK tour.

Now stretched over two days rather than one, festival-goers can book day tickets that will grant access to any of the gigs on that day.

Tickets cost £27.50
