The sister of a heavily pregnant woman stabbed to death by her illegal immigrant boyfriend appeared on national radio as part of the family’s bid to change the law.

Yemi Ilumoka spoke on BBC Radio Five Live last week about her horror that her sibling Abiodun’s killer Ben Anabah has been on day release from a secure mental institution several times since he was detained indefinitely five years ago.

The grieving relatives launched a campaign for a change in the law – with the help of the Gazette and Islington South and Finsbury MP Emily Thornberry – and appeared to have secured a promise from a justice minister to deport Anabah.

But since then they have found he will continue to be escorted on trips in Waltham Forest, prompting Miss Ilumoka’s appearance on the Victoria Derbyshire show on February 26.

She said: “There has been no peace, no justice, no respite at all for the last six years.

“From the beginning the whole case has been a load of shambles.”
