Christmas cheer spread to Nag’s Head when it hosted its yuletide extravaganza on Sunday.
Mince pies and mulled wine were the order of the day as thousands enjoyed a magical afternoon at the Holloway shopping area.
Traffic was replaced with a wonderland of reindeers, a Christmas market and fairground rides as Holloway Road was closed.
Islington Council leader Cllr Catherine West was among the 8,000 to 9,000 people present and said: “It was an amazing event for the whole community. It was wonderful to see so many people – young, old, families, couples, residents, visitors – coming together at Christmas.
“Nag’s Head is a great area and our town centre team and local businesses did the area proud with this event which really did deserve the word ‘extravaganza’.”
