The future of Islington’s post offices will be discussed at an event on Monday.

The public meeting, at the Crescent Suite, in Ronalds Road, Highbury at 7pm, will contemplate the plan to “merge” the Highbury Corner and Upper Street branches into a new branch, also on Upper Street.

Speakers on the night include Jeremy Corbyn, Labour MP for Islington North, Emily Thornberry, Labour MP for Islington South and Finsbury, Cllr Richard Watts, Leader of Islington Council and Andy Furey, from the Communication Workers Union.

The Post Office, which is running a consultation on the move until December 27, has also been invited to speak.
