A new play area and gym has been unveiled on an Archway estate.
The Annesley Walk playground, on the Girdlestone Estate, off Girdlestone Walk, features traditional swings and a roundabout as well as outdoor exercise equipment for adults.
It marks the halfway point in Islington Council’s three year £1.5m Open Spaces scheme, delivering upgrades to estates across the borough, including play spaces, new wildlife gardens and gardening clubs.
Cllr Janet Burgess, Islington Council’s executive member for health and wellbeing said: “Open Spaces is an important way for residents to take more exercise, share activities and enjoy life outdoors.
“Whether you are a toddler, teenager or parent, Islington Open Spaces recognises residents’ wellbeing is improved through better access to play, sports and gardening.”
