Parents worried about neighbour noise complaints covered their baby’s cot with a blanket – with tragic results.
Reginald Hamilton, of Wilberforce Road, Finsbury Park, found two-month-old Lee dead in his cot in the morning.
He told an inquest at St Pancras Coroners’ Court: “It seemed to be getting on well, but I always suspected something was wrong with him because of his excessive crying.”
The parents covered the cot with a blanket to “deaden” the noise, the inquest heard.
In other news, 78-year-old widow Christine Milne died of gas coal poisoning in her flat at Wessex Buildings, Holloway. St Pancras Coroners’ Court heard Mrs Milne accidentally turned on the gas fire when she collapsed.
