More than 1,000 people queued for a free pair of jeans in Finsbury this morning.
Denim lovers filled the pavement all the way from Old Street roundabout to Shoreditch Fire Station for a chance to pick up one of a thousand pairs given away in less than 10 minutes by retailer Cheap Monday.
The stunt, which was also replicated in nine other cities including Hong Kong, Paris and Amsterdam, was part of the brand’s 10th birthday celebrations.
However, many on the trouser trail were left disappointed and voiced their anger on social media that several people picked up multiple pairs of jeans.
