The Angel is now glowing after the Chirstmas lights were switched on and hundreds of people turned up to enjoy the festivities.
Angel Day, organised by angel.london business improvement district for a second year, saw record numbers flock to the shopping strip on November 17.
Many spent the afternoon at Islington Fire Station where children could try on uniforms and sit in the fire engines, while “angel making” and puppetry was also on offer thanks to Little Angel Theatre and carol singers from The Claremont Project performed.
Over in Chapel Market there was live music, food and drink and even Father Christmas himself.
The lights were switched on in front of 500 people at 5pm as the night closed in.
Angel.london CEO Christine Lovett said: “We were delighted with the turnout. The day was not only about marking the start of the festive trading season, but also bringing the community together.”
