Mayor of Islington Cllr Una O’Halloran was the special guest for the Year of the Dog celebrations in Hatchard Road.
As well as “Chinese Elvis” Eddy Lam, performances ranged from Chinese drummers to an Irish music and dance group which meets at the HQ.
The association said it “highlighted and reflected Islington’s vibrant, diverse communities and creativity”.
Founded in 1986, it runs six days a week from St Gabriel’s Community Centre, with a programme including everything from Cantonese opera singing to badminton.
In an interview with the Gazette last year, CEO Dr Stephen Ng said: “This is somewhere Chinese people can come together. Most of us are old folks – the oldest is 90 – and share the same language, customs and traditions.”
