Aspiring Islington artists have the opportunity to publish a comic book about their own MP.
King’s Cross publisher SelfMadeHero is inviting submissions for a comic book anthology about Islington North MP and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn. It said the anthology will be launched at the party conference in September.
Managing director Emma Hayley explained: “The Corbyn Comic Book is a bit of fun for ‘silly season’. But it’s also a great way to engage the grassroots comics community, which has been so important to SelfMadeHero’s story over the last 10 years, and to pay tribute in comic-book form to a politician whose startling rise to prominence has been the defining story of 2017.”
The submission deadline is August 9 and the maximum length is three pages long. The successful entrant will have their work published alongside cartoonists such as the Guardian’s Steve Bell.
