Bus routes serving the centre of Islington will be disrupted for two months as Thames Water carry out water main replacements.
The work is a result of the huge flooding in December, and means some bus routes serving Upper Street and Essex Road will be diverted.
Essex Road is closed to northbound buses near Islington Green. It means bus stops C in Islington Green and K, EA and EB in Essex Road are closed.
Routes 38, 56, 73, 341, 476, N38, N73 are being diverted northbound through Upper Street and Canonbury Road, returning to their normal route near Essex Road station. They serve bus stops on the diversion, including stops Z and P in Upper Street, and ED at Essex Road station.
Buses will run normally southbound.
The overall water main replacement work will take five months, but the bus routes are expected to return to normal by late June. Thames Water added: “There may also be an increase in noise. We’ll do our best to keep disruption to an absolute minimum.”
