Plans for a cycle “superhighway” that would pass through the west side of Islington have been revealed.
Transport for London (TfL) has launched a consultation on a segregated cycle route between King’s Cross and Stonecutter Street, near the Holborn viaduct - which would pass through Farringdon Road.
It is part of Mayor of London Boris Johnson’s wider plans to introduce safe cycling across London.
TfL, along with Islington and Camden councils, is now seeking public responses to the scheme before the consultation deadline on March 20.
Cllr Claudia Webbe, Islington’s executive member for environment and transport, said: “We’re very pleased the proposed north-south cycle route to King’s Cross includes Islington.
“We’ve worked hard with Camden and TfL to develop this safer route for cyclists, which will be of great benefit to local residents and visitors. We look forward to hearing responses to the consultation and encourage people to take part.”
