Two schoolgirls headed to Whitehall to ask a government minister what the coalition is doing to make sure every child in the world gets the chance of an education.
Kai Timms and Lilia Kanu, pupils at Saint Mary Magdalene Academy, in Liverpool Road, Holloway, met Lynne Featherstone, Minister for International Development and MP for Hornsey and Wood Green.
Kai said: “I feel happy that I have contributed towards children from developing countries getting the education they deserve. The fact she gave us her time showed she’s serious about what we had to say.”
Ms Featherstone said: “It was fantastic to meet such passionate children who care about the world they are growing up in and helping to shape.”
