Cutting-edge art, eye-popping dance, electrifying music and inspiring spoken word displays were all in evidence at a show entirely created by teenagers.
Occupy, which took place at the Platform youth hub in Hornsey Road, Holloway, was created, produced and presented by 13 to 19-year-olds.
It was the culmination of six months of hard work for the Islington youngsters, who have been busy working with professional artists from a range of performing arts companies to explore what the word occupy can mean – from the occupation of territory to occupying your time.
Emma Townsend, young creative producer at Platform, which is based at the former Hornsey Road Baths, said: “I love the Occupy project because it really is nothing like I’ve seen before.
“It taught me that an artistic process never goes in a straight line and that you can create amazing dances from dust!”
