Pub regulars who staged a 24-hour darts marathon fundraiser presented more than 3,500 to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The team returned to the North Nineteen pub in Sussex Way, Archway, last month to celebrate their achievement and hand over the cash to Marie Curie fundraiser Emma Carlise (middle holding collection box).

They hurled more than 35,000 darts over 24 hours back in August, in tribute to landlord Tony Cullen’s uncle and pub game fan William Cairns, from Highbury, who died from cancer aged 75 in April.

Organiser Bill Cruickshank (kneeling), 49, an events manager who lives in nearby Sussex Place, said: “We raised about 3,600 which was brilliant and everyone was really pleased.”

It was a great effort and well worth it.”
