Tails were wagging at a dog show promoting responsible pet ownership and preventative health.
The Shoreditch Bark Dog Show in Shoreditch Park, off New North Road, Hoxton, had categories including “best old timer”, “best rescue” and “waggiest tail”, culminating with the award for “Hoxton’s hottest dog”.
The overall winner was a young Jack Russell Terrier called Baxter, in second place was Cleo, a Flat Coat Retriever and in third was Bagera, a friendly Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
Caroline Allen, clinical director of Canonbury Vets in Essex Road, Canonbury, which sponsored the event, was one of three judges and said: “The event was great fun but with a serious message.
“Owning a dog is a great privilege and requires time and effort to ensure dogs are healthy, happy and trained. It was lovely to see so many wonderful dogs with caring and committed owners.”
