A MAN is in hospital with serious head injuries after being knocked off his moped by a British Transport Police vehicle on Wednesday morning.
The 26-year-old was taken to the Royal London hospital after the collision with the unmarked Black Vauxhall Zafira on Caledonian Road.
The 35-year-old driver of the other vehicle was treated for severe shock at the scene.
A spokesman for the British Transport Police said: “We can confirm that a BTP vehicle was involved in a collision with a motorcycle in the early hours of Wednesday, 16 February 2011.
“BTP officers attended the scene alongside officers from the Metropolitan Police at the incident, which was reported at 5.34am.
“We will now work alongside our colleagues from the Metropolitan Police service and cooperate fully with the investigation.”
