A film-lover with remarkably specific taste in cinema snacks has won an award for his devotion to food at the flicks.
Huseyin Ceylan, 41, from Islington, was presented with a Movie Munchies Award at the inaugural ODEON Extras Awards in London on Wednesday, April 30.
The event, held at the ODEON Luxe in Leicester Square, celebrated seven winners for their passion for film and loyalty to their local ODEON cinema.
Mr Ceylan, a celebrity hair stylist at Butcher Salon in Shoreditch, is a regular at the ODEON in Angel and is one of the UK's highest spenders on movie snacks.
Attending the awards with his husband, Camilo Romero, Mr Ceylan said: "We absolutely love a trip to the cinema – in fact, it’s a weekly ritual for us.
"Sometimes it’s just the two of us and other times we’ll go with friends, but what’s always a constant are our movie snacks – they are an absolute essential.
"We always order in advance through the app which means it comes to us when we are settled in our seats.
"The halloumi fries, pizza loaded fries, chicken and chips, and the Caesar salad are our go-to choices.
"We also really enjoy a cider when they are there.
"About halfway through the showing we order our popcorn but it’s got to be mixed and always salty at the bottom and sweet on top."
After being presented with his award by comedian Luke Hamnett, Mr Ceylan and his fellow award winners were treated to an exclusive showing of the 1980s classic, ET.
Mr Hamnett added: "Going to the cinema is absolutely one of my favourite things to do so it’s been such a pleasure to meet so many film fanatics."
The ODEON Extras Awards is part of the launch campaign for ODEON Extras, a new free loyalty scheme that rewards members with points for every pound spent.
