A DERELICT building has been brought back to life as a brand new convenience store.

Located at 413-415 Holloway Road, the building has been transformed into a Nisa store by LA Foods and officially opened its doors on July 18.

The launch marked LA Foods’ 13th London-based Nisa store and follows the renewal of their partnership with Co-op Wholesale for another five years.

Tabrez Hussain, director at LA Foods, said: "We’re delighted to be opening our 13th Nisa store following the extension of our partnership with Co-op Wholesale earlier this year.

"This investment is more than opening a new store, we’ve taken a building that has stood empty and transformed it into a modern shopping destination for the local community.

"We’re proud to be investing in Holloway Road, supporting the high street and giving local shoppers a fantastic new place to shop."

The Holloway Road store offers a refreshed look and layout, enhanced point-of-sale materials and an improved overall shopping experience, with stock including Co-op’s award-winning own-brand range.

This includes food-to-go options, meal solutions, fresh produce and everyday essentials.

The store also supports Co-op Wholesale’s charity, Making a Difference Locally, through sales of Co-op own-brand products, helping to fund projects and good causes within the local community.

Paul Webster, partnerships and sales director at Co-op Wholesale, said: "Bringing a derelict building back into use is a positive investment for Holloway Road and demonstrates the important role independent retailers play in supporting local high streets."
